CAMEROON

(Fédération Camerounaise de Football)

Samuel Eto'o (Inter Milan)
Cameroon vs. Tunisia 2:2
Benguela (Angola), 21.01.2010
The „Lions Indompatbles“ (the „indomitable lions“) from central African Cameroon have made it during their history to a few international surprises (quarter finals World Cup 1990) and developed some legendary footballers (Roger Milla, Samuel Eto’o). Cameroon won the African Cup of Nations four times, last in 2002. They had two German trainers in World Cups in the past with Winfried Schäfer (2002) and Volker Finke (2014).
The federation caused a stir in 2002 by presenting something like a jersey overall out of one piece and very tightly fitting. Unfortunately, the FIFA banned those jerseys from the tournament but I am sure that this was the birth of the typical Puma kits in ultra tight pass form, mainly in Africa. The Cameroon jerseys were often very beautiful designed in the past.
Although they reached a 2-2 draw against Germany before the World Cup, they proposed a very negative image during the tournament with organizational problems, terrible football and disputes among the players – a regression for the ambitious African teams.
Usually I try to avoid Puma jerseys as they never fit my body, but I do really love the designs Puma presents year after year for African national teams. My Cameroon jersey was used during the World Cup in South Africa 2010. Beside the tough material style, the big lion printed on the shoulder is simply awesome! A great jersey from a great team that unfortunately lost some favor this year.
